7-angle 1 dollar coin Barbados – different types
The 1 dollar Barbados coin is non-round (7-sided) and was minted from copper-nickel alloy in 1973-2005 and nickel-plated steel since 2007.
Design
The side with the value designation (reverse)
A flying fish against the sea in a circle of dots.
The inscription below ONE DOLLAR.
The side with the name of the issuer (obverse)
1976 – Coat of arms of Barbados in a circle of dots, on the left “1966”, on the right “1976”;
All other years – Coat of arms of Barbados in a circle of dots, on the left the first two digits of the year, on the right the other two, under each pair a small trident.
The inscription BARBADOS (in 1976 it begins and ends with tridents, in other years the tridents are located higher).
