Square coin 15 Cents Bahamas – different types

The Bahamas 15 cent coin is non-round (square with rounded corners) and has been minted from copper-nickel alloy since 1966 to the present.

Value side (reverse)

Hibiscus flower.

Inscription:

1966-1973 – “FIFTEEN Date CENTS”;

since 1974 – “FIFTEEN CENTS”.

Issuer name side (obverse)

1966-1970 – Bust of Queen Elizabeth II and inscription around the rim “ELIZABETH II BAHAMA ISLANDS”;

1971-1973 – Bust of Queen Elizabeth II and inscription around the rim “COMMONWEALTH OF THE BAHAMA ISLANDS”, below “ELIZABETH II”;

since 1974 – Coat of arms and inscription around the rim “COMMONWEALTH OF THE BAHAMAS”, date below.
