Coin with hole 10 centimes Belgium – all types

The holed 10 centime coin was issued in Belgium in copper-nickel alloy in 1901-1906 and 1920-1930, nickel-brass alloy in 1930-1932 and 1938-1939 and zinc in 1941-1946. Two types of coins were minted throughout the period – with inscriptions in French and Flemish, separately in 1901-1930, in 1938-1946 in both languages, but written in different orders.

Design

Side with value designation (reverse)

1901-1932 – Branch with leaves to the left of the central hole;

1938-1946 – Three shields around the central hole

Inscription:

1901-1906 and 1920-1932 – “10 C^es” in French or “10 C^en” in Flemish;

1938-1946 – “10 C” below, “BELGIQUE-BELGIE” or “BELGIE-BELGIQUE” above.

Side with the issuer’s name (obverse)

1901-1906 – Crowned monogram of King Leopold II around the central hole;

1920-1932 – Crowned monogram of King Albert I around the central hole;

1938-1946 – Stylized crowned monogram of King Albert I around the central hole.

Inscription:

1901-1906 and 1920-1932 – “KONINKRIJK BELGIE” in Flemish or “ROYAUME DE BELGIQUE” in French, date below;

1938-1946 – date below.
