Scalloped coin 1 cent Belize – different types
The 1 cent coin is non-round (serrated with 12 rounded corners) and was issued in Belize in 1973-1976 in bronze, and in 1976-2018 in aluminum.
Design
Value side (reverse)
1973-2018 – Denomination indicated by a numeral inside a circular wreath;
1975-1984 – Two swallow-tailed kite (large and small) in flight.
Inscription:
1973-2018 – “1” in the center, “BELIZE” and “ONE CENT date” around the circle;
1975-1984 – “1 CENT” at the top.
Side with issuer name (obverse)
1973-2018 – Head of young Queen Elizabeth II wearing crown;
1975-1984 – Coat of arms of Belize inside a circular wreath.
Inscription:
1973-2018 – “QUEEN ELIZABETH THE SECOND” around the circle;
1975-1984 – “BELIZE” at the top, date at the bottom.
