Coin with a hole 20 centimes Belgian Congo 1906-1911
The 20 centime coin of the Belgian colony in the Congo with a hole was issued from copper-nickel alloy in 1906-1911.
Design
The side with the value designation (reverse)
A star with rays and a hole in the center, the denomination designation at the top, three small stars on the left and right, the year at the bottom.
Inscription:
1906-1908 – “20 Ces..” at the top, the date at the bottom;
1909-1911 – “20 C.” at the top, the date at the bottom.
The side with the name of the issuer (obverse)
Five monograms of the king (1906-1909 Leopold II, 1910-1911 Albert I) in the form of a star around the central hole, each topped with a crown, inside a circle of dots.
Inscription:
1906-1908 – LEOP II R DE BELGES SOUV DE L`ETAT INDEP DU CONGO (Leopold II King of Belgium ruler of the Free State of Congo);
1909-1911 – CONGO BELGE BELGISCH CONGO (“Belgian Congo” in French and Flemish).
